Flight Fare
Estimating flight cost can never be accurate as it would depend on where you live and on what season you wish to travel. As an average value, we have estimated it to be nearly $250 per person. For a family of four, you should expect to spend approx. $1000 to $1200 in flights alone. However, if you live near Orlando, you can drive for a few hours and spend some $150 in hotel charges. To reduce flight cost the best possible way is to book tickets ahead and during low season time.
Car Rentals
Even after reaching Orlando, you will have to rent a car to get to the Disney World. Disney World is just 18 miles away or a 20-minute ride from the Orlando International Airport. If you plan to stay at onsite Disney World resort, you can avail Disney’s buses called Magical Express from the airport for free; it takes up to 3 hours to reach depending on the choice of your resort.
- There are shared shuttle van services available, which will cost you nearly $20 per person. The shuttle will take multiple stops and takes almost an hour to reach.
- Taxi services are comfortable but expensive, which can cost approximately $70, but on the bright side, it takes less time to reach.
- If you book Uber, it will cost you somewhere between $35 to $60, depending on the type of service you hire.
- Cars rentals typically cost around $200 per week. It includes other charges such as gas, tolls and $20 parking fee at the Disney World. They can charge from $4 to $11 per day, and the cost of damages cost around $3 to $4 each, which will significantly increase your expense but, in our opinion it is the safest and comfortable option for families.
If you are with a family, hiring a car would be a better option if you will be visiting WDW for a few days and want to explore other nearby attractions. On the other hand, if you plan to stay in a hotel outside the Disney World, you could get a free shuttle service, if they provide.

Accommodations
Accommodation cost is going to be the second most significant factor in your expense, especially if you want to stay at an on-site resort for the full Disney experience. For a moderate resort, you should expect to pay up to $300 per night.
Off-site resorts are a somewhat better option and will cost nearly $150 per night. Many of these off-site resorts such as the Clarion Inn, Wyndham, SpringHill by Marriott and Sheraton Lake, etc. are just 10 minutes drive away from the Disney Land. You should also check out some hotels with a shuttle service that will take you to Disney and other places for free. Some of the hotels near Disney with shuttle services are WD World Swan, Floridays, Hilton Lake Buena Vista, etc.
Your next option is vacation homes which offer fully equipped rooms in various price points. However, they are closer to Celebration. Hence they tend to get filled-up faster, and you will have to book ahead.
For budget-friendly hotels, you should check out Holiday Inn, Rosen Inn and other hotels on International Drive. These hotels typically cost between $100 to $120 per night. You could find rooms at a much cheaper rate at nearly $80 per night if you plan. Disney World is only 20 to 30 minutes drive away from the International Drive.
For families who want to splurge can stay at luxury hotels like the Walt Disney World Dolphin, The Ritz Carlton, and others for nearly $450 per day.
